My name is Raisa I. Derrickson,

I have DMA in Piano (Ufa State University of Arts and Kazan Conservatory, Bashkortostan and Tatarstan Republics of the former RU) and Early Music, Harpsichord, that I studied with Edward Parmentier (the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor), Lucy Michelle-Russel (Germany), Blandine Verlet (France), and Boston State University, Boston, MA.

PIANO LESSONS.

have more than 35 years of teaching at the Universities and Colleges of Republics Bashkortostan and Tatarstan (former RU republics) and USA (Ann Arbor, Atlanta, Boca Raton, and Boston).

I was teaching at the Institute of Arts and was a chair of the Piano, Chamber Music, and Accompaniment Department at the Ufa State Institute of Arts, Bashkortostan (one of the former republics of Russia). I was creating International Festivals in the capital of Bashkortostan (Ufa) with participating of the int (for piano, and strings/wind instruments), nationally recognized USA performers (harpsichordist and pianist Edvard Parmentier and others…)

I am experienced and willing to teach piano from the most beginners to an advanced student’s levels of any age.

I participate in WPTA (World Piano Teachers Association) in USA with my students’ performances as well.

I open to teach pianists and the other instrumentalists (wind, string, theory students…) of any age and background in piano performance.

I was teaching piano in the different Schools of Music in the different states (MI, Ann Arbor, GA, Atlanta, Fl, Florida Atlantic University).

My students participated in the state(s), national competitions and auditions. My students have won numerous Piano International Competitions as well.

I performed as a pianist with the faculty of Broward College in FL before my studies in Boston University for my 2nd DMA in Historical Performance Practice (Harpsichord)

I was performing the programs with the Chilean American pianist, harpsichordist, and conductor Juvenal Correa-Salas programs from Baroque to Modernity (from I.S. Bach to Dick Koomans) in LIGETY DUO, with the dean of FAU Irena Kofman in the concert program Two Vibrant Harpsichords, with prof. of the Michigan University Edward Parmentier (Harpsichord Duet), …?add piano…

HARPSICHORD LESSONS.

have studied Performance Practice of Baroque Music (Harpsichord) at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and Boston University(Boston). I offer lectures on Baroque Performance Practice for all instruments and Private lessons for either pianists or anyone who would be interested to play on the harpsichord, a keyboard instrument of I.S. Bach’s period. (for ins. Musicology students, Piano, String, Wind instruments students). I consistently participating with my research, presentations on the different topics of the Piano Performance Practice and Baroque Performance Practice (harpsichord) in the WPC (World Piano Conferences) in Serbia. My last presentation of 2026 represents (for piano, and strings/wind instruments), the topic on “Polyphony in Chopin’s Piano Compositions”, as the most innovative research on Bach’s influence in Chopin’s piano compositions.

I have 2 harpsichords in my possession and would be willing to offer for the students lessons my Flemish harpsichord if you would be willing to cooperate in the delivery to your facilities.

I would be open to presenting the lectures-introductions on the authentic Baroque Performance Practice (keyboard, string, voice) to Piano/String/Wind students and faculty as well.

l’ve recently moved after my second DMA studies (Harpsichord, Historical Performance Practice) at Boston University, Boston to Panama City, FL and I am looking for the opportunity to provide my experience and knowledge to FSU students, whether in Piano, Piano Performance Practice, The history of Piano Performance or Baroque Performance Practice (Harpsichord) with lectures emphasis on the updated interpretation of Bach’s harpsichord compositions on the modern piano, as the current requirement in the US Schools of Music for pianists for the adequate interpretations of the Baroque period of Music.

I have experience of teaching Music Appreciation and Piano at the College of Arts in Boca Raton, FL and Broward College, and in Atlanta, GA.

Besides teaching, I have experience as Coordinator of the Classical Music Series (Baroque, Romantic and Modern Periods) at the Broward College of Arts, Humanities, and Design Pathway of the Classical Music Series (Music of Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern periods) at the Broward College, FL.
