Teacher’s Biography
Raisa Isaacs, pianist and harpsichordist, awarded by US Commerce Association as the Best Teacher of Atlanta 2011 in Music Instruction for Adult Piano Lessons, and was presented by social media AllProMedia Group (New-York) Diamond Professional Award in Music Instruction, Distinguished Member, 2013 for achievements in piano education and as a professional in music who stays at the roots of cutting edge technology – Online Lessons.She is a Life Member of Who’s Who. She earned her DMA in Chamber Music at at the Kazan State Conservatory and Master Degree in Piano Performance, Pedagogy, Accompaniment and Chamber Music at the Ufa State Institute of Arts (Conservatory), Russia. She continued her studies in post-doctoral courses at the Moscow Conservatory, Russian Academy by Gnesinuch in Moscow and Gorky Conservatory in Nizhni Novgorod, Russia and studied Harpsichord in University of Michigan, US. She served as Associate Professor and Head of Chamber Music and Accompaniment Department at the Ufa State Institute of Arts (Russia) teaching chamber music, piano, harpsichord and Keyboard Performance Practice course. Ms. Isaacs performed extensively throughout republics of the former USSR and played regularly at music festivals and conferences. She was Artistic Director and harpsichordist of the “Early Music Ensemble” of the Ufa State Institute of Arts and president of the musical society “Knowledge”.
She taught at the Music Department of the Eastern Michigan University and performed in the Detroit, New York, Ann Arbor, and Ypsilanti areas. She moved to Atlanta in 2003 and was working at the NMS of the Georgia State University, Georgia Perimeter College and at the Reinhardt University. She was a member of Atlanta Camerata, and performed as a pianist, chamber music performer and Artistic Director and harpsichordist throughout Metro Atlanta area. Her performances includes recitals at the Canon Chapel of the Emory University, Kopleff Hall at the GSU, Oglethorpe University Museum of Arts, Steinway Piano Gallery, Reinhardt University Fallany Performing Arts Center and in the concert halls of Regensburg and Burglengenfeld, Germany. Raisa Isaacs was a member of the judge committee of the final round of the Pianovision Competitions (WPPC) and on the faculty of the International Summer Academy in Germany ”Music on the Rhine”, “Music in Regensburg” and “Music in Cremona” in Italy.
Her teaching achievements include the winners of the American Protégé Talent and Romantic Competitions, New York, Alpharetta Outstanding Performer competition, NDMTA Piano Sonata Competition, Chopin Competition of the Chopin Society of Atlanta, the International competitions in France and USA, The National Junior Beta Club, the Olympics Competition at GCSU, finalists of the Pianovision Competitions, International Amateur Piano Competition (Colorado). Her students performed at the Carnegie Hall, have been chosen as a GMTA Conference Recitalists, were invited for the master-class at WPPC, and have won the Summer Scholarships at NFMC.
Raisa Isaacs organized International Conferences of the Early and Modern Music (Russia) and has recently been a main coordinator of Master classes in Piano of the leading piano educators Phillip Kawin, Manhattan School of Music NY, Vladislav Kovalsky, Monmouth Conservatory, NJ, Peter Takacs (Oberlin Conservatory), Harpsichord (UofM) and Chamber Music and Violin (Longy School of Music) who presented master classes at GSU, Reinhardt University, Brenau University, GPC and in Atlanta Metro Area MTA chapters (AtlMTA, NDMTA, GCMTA and NFMTA). Raisa is a founder and chair of AMTA Romantic&Impressionistic Festival-Competition, Program Chair at NDMTA, AMTA, and AMTA Outstate Program Coordinator. Dr. Raisa Isaacs is a founder and coordinator of AEMA Baroque Keyboard Workshop and a frequent lecturer on the Piano Performance Practice in Baroque and Classical periods.
Raisa Isaacs moved to Boca Raton, Florida in 2014 and currently teaches at Broward College and her private studio. She has been successfully working online by Skype with adult students from different states and countries as well. Her recent performances includes a lecture-recital on Baroque Fundamentals and Masterclass (on piano and harpsichord) in Lynn University, Boca Raton, Fl, Baroque recital with viola d’amore at the Monmouth Conservatory, NJ, and a harpsichord duet recital at the Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.
Currently, Raisa Isaacs is a member of Broward County MTA and Palm Beach County MTA. Her students perform at the Florida Federation of Music Clubs Festival and Pompano Beach Competition.
